Purchases between $5,000 and $50,000 are made using informal competition whenever practical or advantageous.
Purchases in excess of $50,000 (with specifically defined exceptions) require that a formal, competitive process be conducted. The formal solicitations that the Town generally uses are an Invitation to Bid (which is awarded to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder) or a Request for Proposals (which is awarded based on various criteria intended to afford the Town the best value).
Rocky Mountain E-Purchasing System
The Town of Parker Purchasing Division issues its solicitations, addenda and awards on the Rocky Mountain E-Purchasing System website. Registration at The Rocky Mountain E-Purchasing System affords vendors the option to receive email notification when the Town or any of the 43 other member agencies issue solicitations for products or services that they can provide.
