Roadway Capital Improvement Projects

Chambers Road Widening

(Work consists of widening Chambers Road between Hess Road and Mainstreet)

The roadway widening project is complete.  The median landscaping project between the Hess Road and Heirloom Parkway intersections has been completed.  The Town has commenced the median improvements on Chambers Road between Heirloom Parkway and Mainstreet and the work is planned to be completed by the spring of 2019.  Due to a lack of an irrigation water source for this section of roadway, improvements will consist of decorative rock and lighting.

Cottonwood Drive Widening

(Work consists of widening Cottonwood Drive between Jordan Road and Cottonwood Way intersections)

Design work has commenced and it is anticipated that the design will be completed in 2019.  Due to budget constraints, the funding for the widening construction is not anticipated to be available until 2020.

Parker Road Sidewalk Project

(Work consists of installation of a sidewalk on the eastside of Parker Road between the Sulphur Gulch Trail (south of Mainstreet) to just north of Plaza Drive)

Construction of this partially federally funded project is complete

Summerset Lane Extension Project

(Work consists of extending Summerset Lane east of Pine Drive)

Construction of the roadway project is complete.  Installation of the proposed traffic signal at the Pine Drive/Summerset Lane intersection is pending the outcome of a Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) warrant analysis.

Jordan Road Widening

(Work consists of widening Jordan Road from Hess Road to Bradbury Parkway)

Roadway widening construction is complete.  Median landscaping on the three (3) medians between Hess Road and Bradbury Parkway is substantially compete.    View more information on this project.

Motsenbocker Road Widening

(Work consists of widening Motsenbocker Road from the Clarke Farms subdivision to the Todd Drive intersection)

Final design for this widening project was completed in the spring of 2018.  Funding for the construction of this project is dependent on adjacent development providing their portion of the project funding and easements per their respective development agreement.  This funding was received in September and Town staff is currently working to acquire the easements needed to allow for construction in 2019.  The project will be competitively bid in January/February with construction anticipated to commence in the spring of 2019.

Kings Point Way

(Work consists of construction of Kings Point Way between Cottonwood Drive and proposed Aurora Parkway)

Town staff has engaged a consultant to complete the design of the project.  Kings Point Way is a proposed collector roadway on the east side of Parker Road (State Highway 83) between Cottonwood Way and proposed Aurora Parkway.  Town Council will be reviewing a proposed intergovernmental agreement (IGA) with the City of Aurora in January.  Construction is currently anticipated to commence in 2019.

Chambers Road/Cottonwood Drive Traffic Signal

(Work consist of a installation of a mast arm traffic signal at the Chambers Road/Cottonwood Drive intersection)

The traffic signal is operational and Town staff is working to close out the contract.

Canterberry Parkway/Idyllwilde Drive Traffic Signal

(Work consist of a installation of a mast arm traffic signal at the Canterberry Parkway/Idyllwilde Dr. intersection)

The Town’s contractor has completed the underground improvements.  Signal poles for the project were delivered in December and the traffic signal is anticipated to be operational in January.

Annual Maintenance Projects

Townwide Concrete Repair - 2019

(Work consists of miscellaneous sidewalk, concrete pavement and curb & gutter repairs throughout the Town)

Town staff is working to complete the 2019 scope of work for competitive bidding in March.

Roadway Reconstruction – 2019

(Work consists of street repairs to various locations in the Town of Parker)

The 2019 reconstruction project will be the westbound lanes of Stroh Road between Parker Road (State Highway 83) and J Morgan Boulevard. The Stroh Road reconstruction will removed the 30+ year old concrete pavement and replaced it with an asphalt/aggregate base course pavement section during the spring/summer of 2019. 

Roadway Resurfacing – 2019

(Work consists of thin overlays, chip seal and slurry seal (pavement preservation) work in various locations in the Town of Parker)

The asphalt overlay portion of the project has been competitively bid and awarded by Town Council. The pavement preservation project is anticipated to be competitively bid in February. 


Stormwater Capital Improvement Projects

Cherry Creek at KOA

(Work consists of channel and bank stabilization between McCabe Meadows Trailhead Parking lot and Twenty Mile Road extended)

This project is currently in design with permitting and construction projected in the fourth quarter of 2019.


Facility Capital Improvement Projects

Parker Schoolhouse Annex Renovation Project

(Project consists of remodeling the existing non-historic annex interior space including a concession, box office, and office addition; restroom upgrades; fire alarm upgrades and misc. interior upgrades)

The project is complete.

Parker Fieldhouse Renovation Project

(Project consists of converting the existing indoor playground area to classrooms and adding office space)

The project is complete.

Parker Schoolhouse Historical Restoration Project

(Project consists of restoration of the 100-year old historical portion of the Schoolhouse building)

The project is complete.

Parker Schoolhouse Plaza and Parking Lot Project

(Project consists of renovating the parking lot area between the Schoolhouse and Ruth Chapel into an interactive plaza and reconfiguring and reconstructing the south parking lot)

Competitive bidding is complete and construction is tentatively scheduled to start in spring 2019 and be complete in fall 2019.

Pine Curve Property Building Demolition Project

(Project consists of demolition of two unoccupied residences just north of the Pine Drive and Mainstreet intersection)

The project is complete.

19801 East Mainstreet Building Demolition Project

(Project consists of demolition of the former Parker Water & Sanitation District building located at 19801 East Mainstreet Parker, CO 80138)

The project is complete.

H2O'Brien Pool and Building Renovation Project

(Project consists of renovating select aquatic features and equipment and improving the functionality and flow of the facility)

Design is underway with construction tentatively scheduled to start in mid-September 2019 and be complete in mid-April 2020.


Recreation Improvements

Discovery Park (formerly "The Plaza on Main")

(Project includes the design and construction of a public park and plaza located at the NE corner of E. Mainstreet and PACE Center Drive)

The project is complete.

Salisbury Park Connection Trail

(Project consists of a concrete trail to connect the Salisbury Park ball field area with the Cherry Creek trail).

The project is complete.

Harvie Open Space Access Project

(Project consists of adding a left turn lane to eastbound Mainstreet at Canterberry Parkway and associated traffic signal modifications)

Design for the project is complete with construction delayed due to budget constraints.  The Town has contracted with Intermountain Rural Electric Association (IREA) for needed underground power relocation and this work will be completed this winter.

Harvie Open Space Park Project

(Project consists of redeveloping the 70+ acres north of Canterberry Parkway and E. Mainstreet into a passive open space use area)

The project is on hold pending direction from Town Council.

Auburn Hills Park Project

(Project consists of completing and integrating the 11-acre park that is currently bisected by the undeveloped 210-foot-wide Public Service Company corridor/ROW)

Design is underway with construction tentatively scheduled for spring 2020.

Bar CCC Parking Lot Project

(Project consists of paving the existing gravel parking lot and associated drainage improvements and new landscaping, irrigation and lighting)

Design is underway with construction scheduled to start in July 2019 and be complete in November 2019.

Bar CCC Ball Park Lighting & Scoreboard Project

(Project consists of adding sports lighting and a scoreboard)

Design is underway with construction scheduled to start in spring 2020 and be complete in summer 2020.

Jordan Road Undercrossing Project

(Project consists of constructing an under-crossing along the East-West Regional Trail at Jordan Road)

Design is underway with construction tentatively scheduled to start and finish in 2020.
