Roadway Capital Improvement Projects

Chambers Road Widening

(Work consists of widening Chambers Road between Hess Road and Mainstreet)

The roadway widening and the median landscaping projects are complete.

Cottonwood Drive Widening

(Work consists of widening Cottonwood Drive between Jordan Road and Cottonwood Way intersections)

Design work has commenced and it is anticipated that the design will be completed in 2019. Due to budget constraints, the funding for the widening construction is not anticipated to be available until 2020.

Parker Road Sidewalk Project - South

(Work consists of installation of a multi-use trail/sidewalk on the west side of Parker Road between the Twenty Mile Road intersection to the Hess Road intersection with a spur to the Cherry Creek Trail)

Design on this project has commenced and the Town has applied for partial Federal funding of the project.

Summerset Lane Extension Project

(Work consists of extending Summerset Lane east of Pine Drive)

Construction of the roadway project is complete. Installation of the proposed traffic signal at the Pine Drive/Summerset Lane intersection is pending the outcome of a Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) warrant analysis.

Motsenbocker Road Widening

(Work consists of widening Motsenbocker Road from the Clarke Farms subdivision to the Todd Drive intersection)

The project is substantially complete with minor work remaining to be completed this fall. The Town will be competitively bidding the irrigation/landscaping of the two (2) medians this winter with completion in the spring of 2020. The shoulder landscaping restoration/installation is currently being coordinated with the appropriate developments for completion in the spring of 2020.

Kings Point Way

(Work consists of construction of Kings Point Way between Cottonwood Drive and proposed Aurora Parkway)

Kings Point Way is a proposed collector roadway on the east side of Parker Road (State Highway 83) between Cottonwood Drive and proposed Aurora Parkway (located in Arapahoe County). The project construction is underway with a planned completion in the spring of 2020.

Hess Road/Country Meadows Commercial Traffic Signal

(Work consists of installation of a mast arm traffic signal at the Hess Road/Country Meadows commercial access located west of Parker Road)

Construction has commenced and is anticipated to be substantially completed in late-2019.

Canterberry Parkway/Idyllwilde Drive Traffic Signal

(Work consist of a installation of a mast arm traffic signal at the Canterberry Parkway/Idyllwilde Dr. intersection)

The project is substantially complete.

Motsenbocker/Hess Intersection Improvements

(Works consists of improvements at the Motsenbocker/Hess intersection and widening south)

Design on the project has commenced. Construction is anticipated in 2020 pending approval of the 2020 budget.

Southwest Parker Road/Mainstreet Improvements

(Work consists of turn lane widening at the southwest corner of Parker Road/Mainstreet)

Design on the project has commenced. Construction is anticipated in 2020 pending approval of the budget.

Parker Road Responsive Signal System Improvements

(Work consists of infrastructure improvements needed to implement responsive signal timing on Parker Road)

Phase 1 of the vehicle counting infrastructure has been awarded and Phase 2 of the vehicle counting infrastructure is set to be reviewed by Town Council for award in October. Phase 1 is anticipated to be implemented by the end of the year with Phase 2 implementation in the spring of 2020. 


Annual Maintenance Projects

Townwide Concrete Repair - 2019

(Work consists of miscellaneous sidewalk, concrete pavement and curb & gutter repairs throughout the Town)

The 2019 scope of work was competitively bid in March and awarded by Town Council in April. Project improvements have commenced and will be completed late-2019.

Roadway Reconstruction – 2019

(Work consists of street repairs to various locations in the Town of Parker)

The 2019 reconstruction project was the westbound lanes of Stroh Road between Parker Road (State Highway 83) and J Morgan Boulevard. Construction is substantially completed and staff is working to close out this project this fall.

Roadway Resurfacing – 2019

(Work consists of thin overlays, chip seal and slurry seal (pavement preservation) work in various locations in the Town of Parker)

The original asphalt overlay project and the pavement preservation work is substantially complete. The asphalt overlay project and safety modifications on Lincoln Avenue east of Parker Road (State Highway 83) was added in the summer to the asphalt overlay project via a new contract. Construction is underway with completion in November.


Stormwater Capital Improvement Projects

Cherry Creek at KOA

(Work consists of channel and bank stabilization between McCabe Meadows Trailhead Parking lot and Twenty Mile Road extended)

This project is currently in design with permitting and construction projected in the first quarter of 2020.

Lemon Gulch at Meadowlark

(Work consists of channel and bank stabilization from Crowfoot Valley Road to the Meadowlark property boundary approximately 1,500 feet east)

This project is currently in design with permitting and construction projected in the fourth quarter of 2019.


Facility Capital Improvement Projects

Parker Schoolhouse Plaza and Parking Lot Project

(Project consists of renovating the parking lot area between the Schoolhouse and Ruth Chapel into an interactive plaza and reconfiguring and reconstructing the south parking lot)

Phase 1 construction is complete.  Phase 2 construction is underway and will be complete by late-2019.

H2O'Brien Pool and Building Renovation Project

(Project consists of renovating select aquatic features and equipment and improving the functionality and flow of the facility)

Construction is underway and will be complete by late-May 2020.


Recreation Improvements

Harvie Open Space Park Project

(Project consists of redeveloping the 70+ acres north of Canterberry Parkway and E. Mainstreet into a passive open space use area)

The project is on hold due to budget constraints.

Auburn Hills Park Project

(Project consists of completing and integrating the 11-acre park that is currently bisected by the undeveloped 210-foot-wide Public Service Company corridor/ROW)

Design is underway with construction tentatively scheduled for spring 2020.

Bar CCC Parking Lot Project

(Project consists of paving the existing gravel parking lot and associated drainage improvements and new landscaping, irrigation and lighting)

The project is on hold due to budget constraints.

Bar CCC Ball Park Lighting & Scoreboard Project

(Project consists of adding sports lighting and a scoreboard)

The project is on hold due to budget constraints.

Jordan Road Under-Crossing Project

(Project consists of constructing an under-crossing along the East-West Regional Trail at Jordan Road)

Design is underway with construction tentatively scheduled to start and finish in 2021 pending funding availability.
