[ARCHIVED] Meet Our Staff - Cheri Sullivan

Cheri Sullivan - Meet Our Staff

From implementing the policies set by Town Council to overseeing Town operations as a whole, the Town Administrator’s Office is a busy place to be. Cheri Sullivan, a new member of the Town Administrator’s staff, is excited to jump right in and help. Cheri will be the first point of contact for calls, requests and concerns that come directly to the Town Administrator’s Office and often times to the Mayor and Town Council.

Read on to learn more about Cheri!

How long have you worked for the Town of Parker? Where did you work before Parker?
"I have worked for the Town since April 2016 as the Sales Tax Analyst, and recently transitioned to be the Executive Assistant in the Town Administrator’s Office. Prior to working at the Town, I worked for Douglas County School District for 10 years in various roles, most recently as the Administrative Assistant to the Principal at Mountain View Elementary."

Please give a brief overview of what your job entails and how it impacts the Parker community.
"I am very much looking forward to working in the TA's Office as the Executive Assistant. In this new role, I will be providing support to the Town Administrator’s Office, along with the Mayor and Town Council. Those who work at the executive level of the organization are involved in every aspect of the Town and in every department. By providing day-to-day support for them, they will be more able to spend their time responding to the needs of the community. In addition, I will be working on community-oriented special projects such as the annual Parker Civic Academy and community engagement."

What do you most enjoy about working for the Town of Parker?
"The people that I work with are amazing! It is such a positive place to be and I feel like everyone takes pride in their work in order to make a difference for our community."

What is one thing that most people don’t know about you?
"I’m working on becoming fluent in French and ultimately becoming trilingual with Spanish fluency, as well."

What is your favorite thing to do in your free time?
"Spending time with my family, hiking, attending local live theater, trying new restaurants."

What’s one thing that you feel sets Parker apart from other communities?
"I am fortunate enough to both work and live here in the community, and the fact that Parker has that hometown feel, while still having all of the suburban amenities, is amazing. The PACE Center is a hidden gem and I love the offerings and culture it provides right here in our own back yard."

What is the most interesting place you’ve ever visited?
"The top of a Colorado 14er. There is really nothing like the feeling of hiking up to the top and having your breath taken away by the vast view…maybe that is due to the lack of oxygen, too!"

What’s one thing you couldn’t live without?
"Learning. 'Once you stop learning, you start dying' – Albert Einstein"

If you could do another job for the Town of Parker for just one day, what would it be?
"I recently saw an opening for a “Crime Scene Investigator” with the Town. Murder mystery shows may be my guilty pleasure."

What accomplishment are you most proud of since you started working for the Town of Parker?
"Working together with the Sales Tax team to streamline the online filing for businesses."

What is the strangest thing that you have experienced while working for the Town of Parker?
"Every morning there were certain cars that would repeatedly come to Town Hall and drive through the parking lots and then leave. I asked around about it and no one seemed to know who they were. Security? Stalkers? Turns out they are avid Pokemon Go players who drive by the numerous “Pokestops” by Town Hall and the PACE Center daily. Who knew!?!"

Thank you, Cheri, for all that you do for Parker!
