The process of improving pedestrian navigation along Parker Road continues this spring.The Town of Parker opened a competitive bid process for the Parker Road Sidewalk Project (east side) in late January, with contractor Jalico International, Inc. of Commerce City submitting the low bid of approximately $810,000. CDOT contract award concurrence and Town approval happened in mid-February and early March. The project will receive partial federal funding in the form of over $500,000.This project will add new sidewalk beginning at Sulphur Gulch Trail and extending north to just beyond Plaza Drive. The sidewalk on the west side of Parker Road from Mainstreet to Lincoln Avenue was constructed in 2012 and was also partially federally funded.The Parker Road Sidewalk Project has been in the works for the past few years. Preliminary design started in 2012, and the final design was completed and approved by CDOT in 2016 following several reviews.
