[ARCHIVED] Town Council Meeting Update - Jan. 6

Town Council Meeting Update

Want to know what happened at the most recent Town Council Meeting? We have you covered! Recaps will be posted on each Wednesday following that week's Town Council Meeting.

Public Hearings

Town Administrator Duties
Town of Parker voters approved amendments to the Town of Parker Home Rule Charter concerning emergency powers (Section 15.14) and the personnel manual (Section 15.19) during the Nov. 5 Special Election. Those amendments necessitated changes to Section 2.03.020, concerning the Town Administrator’s functions and duties. Town Council approved this ordinance concerning those changes.
Approved 4-0 (In Favor: Diak, Lewis, Poage, Rivero)

First Readings - Second Readings Scheduled for Jan. 21

Sex Offender Registry Website
The Parker Police Department previously entered into an Intergovernmental Agreement with Douglas County for the use of the SOTAR (Sex Offender Tracking and Registration) software that was developed by Douglas County. Access to this software allows the Parker Police the ability to upload information on all sex offender registrants within the Town of Parker for public viewing and awareness. Use of this program has grown to a statewide level, creating the need for a dedicated employee to manage the SOTAR software for Douglas County and all user agencies. Douglas County is now seeking user fees from participating agencies to assist with personnel costs of this much needed position. User fees are based on agency size and the stated cost for the Parker Police Department will be $2,500 per year.
Approved 4-0 (In Favor: Diak, Lewis, Poage, Rivero)

Public Meeting Notice Designated Posting Place
Town Council approved by resolution the designation of Town Hall as the public place for posting of public meeting notices. As required by the Colorado Open Meetings Law, each year the Town must designate a public place for posting of such notices.
Approved 4-0 (In Favor: Diak, Lewis, Poage, Rivero)
