Pedestrian Hybrid Beacon Coming to Jordan Road

Jordan Road Pedestrian Hybrid Beacon Map

Parker area trail users will soon be able to utilize a new pedestrian hybrid beacon on Jordan Road in the Cottonwood subdivision, located north of Cottonwood Drive between Sandreed Circle and Apache Plume Drive.

Town Council awarded a contract on July 20 to construct this hybrid beacon to help create a safe crossing for the soft surface trails on both sides of Jordan Road that then feed into the Cherry Creek Trail to the east.

The beacon signalization will include a crosswalk, overhead yellow and red beacon lights and walk signals. These type of beacons are somewhat new to the Denver metro area but have been introduced in other states, such as Arizona, over the past decade. It is anticipated that work will begin this fall, and the beacon is anticipated to be operational by the end of the year.
