On Tuesday March 27, 2012 at 2 p.m., Parker Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) unit arrested 30-year-old Richard Dale Sutherlin III, DOB: 04/21/1981, on felony charges of Internet Luring of a Child and Criminal Attempt Sexual Assault on a Child.
During the course of the investigation, a Parker ICAC detective discovered that Sutherlin III was chatting on-line with a 14 year-old female and had set up a time to meet the 14 year-old for sex.
Parker Police Department, along with the Douglas County Pattern Crimes Unit (PCU), identified and arrested Sutherlin at a predetermined meet location in Parker. Sutherlin was in town on business.
The Parker Police Department is a member of the national Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, which is funded by a grant from the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention. Parents are reminded to monitor their children’s online activity.
The Parker Police Department has two detectives assigned to the joint Douglas County Pattern Crimes Unit (PCU). This unit works cooperatively on various property crime-related cases within the County and specifically the Parker area.
