Mayor and Town Council
Title: Town Councilmember
Re-elected in November 2014, Josh Martin will serve on the Parker Town Council until November 2018. He is excited to serve in this role. “I truly appreciate the citizens of Parker trusting me to be their voice on the Parker Town Council and I hope to serve them well,” said Josh.
Some of his main priorities on Council include improving the Town’s working partnerships with local businesses and business organizations, ensuring Parker is operating as efficiently as possible, building the Town’s daytime economy, adding to the level of services available to youth in Parker, improving communication with and education of residents regarding the Town’s activities and services and increasing citizen participation in local government.
Josh and his wife Shanna have called Canterberry Crossing home since 2003. They have two children, son Chance and daughter Cooper. Josh graduated from Sunnyside High School in Washington State and earned a B.S. in Business and Economics from Western Washington University. He is currently the Co-Owner and Managing Partner for The Insurance Advisors, a full-service independent insurance agency located here in Parker.
Currently, Josh volunteers as the Chairman of the Advisory Board for the Parker Adventist Hospital Foundation, and spends countless hours volunteering with the Cherry Creek Valley Rotary Club of Parker.
From an early age, Josh worked in all aspects of his family’s apple-growing business in Washington. While he was attending Western Washington University, he also became involved with The Boys and Girls Clubs of America and focused on their programs, athletics and fundraising for seven years. Josh then began a career with HSBC Mortgage and Finance and came to Colorado through a corporate relocation with that company. During his time with HSBC, Josh managed over $3 billion in accounts and assets in the Denver Metro area, leaving as an Assistant Vice President. In 2008, he left to pursue a dream of owning his own business and has worked in the insurance industry since that time.
When he isn’t working, Josh enjoys being with his family and often takes his son to school, watches Chance and Cooper play soccer at the Parker Fieldhouse and goes camping all over Colorado. He also enjoys golfing, reading and watching movies.
