Business License FAQ

Do I need a license?
All business operating in Parker must apply for a Business and Tax License. Even businesses that do not "sell" anything must obtain a license. The licensing process ensures that the Town has current emergency notification information, that the area is properly zoned for your business activity, and that the Town can track tax filings.

Businesses that deliver taxable items into Parker must generally obtain a license to do so and must collect the Town sales tax.

How do I get a license?
License applications are available from the Sales Tax Division by calling 303.805.3228, coming into Town Hall to pick one up, or by downloading the application below. The licensing process takes approximately 20 days from the date the application is received before the license is issued.

Do I have to renew the license?
Yes, the license is valid for one year. The license must be renewed by Dec. 31 of every year. The Sales Tax Division sends license renewal notices before Dec. 1 of every year.

Home-based businesses must complete the License Application as well as the Home Occupation Agreement Form. All other businesses must complete the License Application as well as the Police and Fire Information Form.
