Special
Licensing Authority
The
Special Licensing Authority was created for the purpose of reviewing
applications for and issuing beer and liquor licenses, amusement
device and arcade licenses and sexually-oriented
business licenses pursuant to applicable state statutes and Town
codes. The Authority’s responsibilities include reviewing
applications, holding hearings on applications, issuing decisions
on applications for various licenses and advising the Town Council
on licensing issues.
The
Authority consists of five members and they must be Parker residents.
They are appointed by the Town Council to serve a two-year term.
Members
must not have any interest in the operation of a liquor establishment,
amusement device or arcade, or sexually-oriented business
or have a member of his or her immediate family who is involved
in any of the above in Douglas County. Members must not hold a
political office anywhere in the state of Colorado and must be
21 years of age or older.
The
Authority meets on the third Thursday of the month at 7 p.m. at
Town Hall
in the Town Council Chambers.
