The
Mayor is in!
David Casiano was elected to be Mayor in November 2004. You may have run into the Mayor– he pops up all over town! His “The Mayor Is In” program takes him to businesses around our community to seek input from you, our residents. He has set up shop in all kinds of places, including Wal-Mart, King Soopers and Lowe’s Home Improvement to name a few, to make it easy for citizens to approach him. “This was the result of a campaign promise I made to the citizens. One of my goals as Mayor is to seek out the opinions and help with questions of constituents, as well as to make sure that their voices are being heard in the public process,” said Casiano.

Mayor Casiano believes providing leadership is important in a community that is growing as fast as Parker. “Governance is a very serious business dealing with vital issues affecting Parker and the quality of life we experience within it. I truly enjoy serving our community.”
Another aspect of the role of Mayor that keeps him busy these days are the committees he represents the Town on. These range from groups as diverse as the Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG) to the Denver/Baghdad Partnership of Peace. Mayor Casiano serves on a wide variety of committees that deal with revitalizing Parker’s downtown area and solving transportation issues. He has also been active with the Parker Cultural Commission for many years and has even starred in productions at the Mainstreet Center. Currently, the Mayor teaches and directs theater at the Parker campus of Lutheran High School.
There are many goals that the Mayor would like to accomplish during his tenure. “Some of my top priorities include vitalizing Downtown and East Mainstreet, developing a Performing Arts Center for the Town, adding more infrastructure to assist with our traffic impact. My hope is that these goals will make a positive impact on our community.”
He would also like citizens to understand that the Town Council is a ‘work-in-progress.’ “Councilmembers come to elected office with widely diverse perspectives, experience, educational backgrounds and opinions. Every two years the Council changes, so our time as elected officials is precious and limited,” commented Mayor Casiano. He knows that in the long run, Council leadership is a process of getting people together to achieve common goals and aspirations.
Casiano has lived in Parker’s Derby Hill subdivision with his wife Susan for 16 years. He also has one daughter, Jennifer Hyberger.
