Gary Lasater Spotlight
Councilmember Gary Lasater was sworn in as Parker Town Councilmember in December 2004 after being elected in the November general election. Gary previously had served as our longest serving Mayor. He was elected to office in April of 1996 was re-elected in November 2000. Due to term limits, Lasater stepped down as Mayor in December 2004, to assume a new role as Councilmember.
Lasater has or is serving on a large variety of committees since he was elected in 1996. These include:

Gary's main emphasis as Councilmember is to ensure a strong economic foundation through an effort to attract retail businesses to Parker.
Before moving to Parker in 1993, Gary was active in the East Montclair Neighborhood Association. He focused on the items that would impact the neighborhood with the closing of Lowry Air Force Base on its southern border and Stapleton International Airport on its northern border. Shortly after moving to the Parker community of Clarke Farms, Gary was elected to the Board of Directors of the Homeowners' Association. In addition to his Board duties, he was also made Chair of the Architectural Control Committee.
In addition to his many duties on the Parker Town Council, Lasater has been a business executive in the Denver Metro area since returning in 1981. Gary and his family first moved to the Denver area in 1968. He graduated in 1969 from Bear Creek High School and went to college, beginning his early studies in the Engineering arena, switching majors to Mass Communications and graduating with a Bachelor's degree from Brigham Young University .
Gary and his wife, Jan, have two sons, A.J. and Coby. Gary also has two daughters from a previous marriage, Dawn and Dia.
