Mom,
Sports Enthusiast and Councilmember!

Tracy Hutchins, who was re-elected to Council in November of 2006,
has called Parker home for more than 14 years. Tracy graduated
from the University of Denver and she lives in Rowley Downs with
her three daughters, two dogs, three cats and four fish. Hutchins
is very involved in her daughters’ sports interests and
she is a self-proclaimed cheerleader and chauffeur for them! She
loves to play soccer, do crafts and hang out with her children
in her spare time.
Hutchins
is has been very involved in the Parker community over the years.
Her involvement began in 1990 when she began coaching the Ponderosa
High School boys’ and girls’ swim teams. She has also
coached swimming at the Pinery. This led Hutchins to become involved
with her Homeowner’s Association and to become a member
of the Town’s Parks and Recreation Commission. She also
served on the Town’s Cultural Commission.
After
seeing the Town grow and change over the years, Hutchins decided
that she wanted to become further involved and have a voice in
the development and direction of her community. In 2002, she ran
for Town Council and was elected to office. She was re-elected to Council in 2006. One of her priorities
on Council is to make Parker a place that her children are proud
to be from. She wants Parker to be a safe place where her children,
and others, are able to play sports, walk their dogs and go to
concerts and plays. She wants her girls and their friends to be
able to play all of their sports here in Parker.
Hutchins
would also like to give citizens as many opportunities as possible
to voice their opinions and have a say in the government of their
home town. She would like the citizens of Parker to know that
everyone on the Town Council does a lot of homework on the projects
that come before them prior to the Town Council meetings. There
is a lot of time, learning and thought that goes into every decision
the Council makes. Additionally, she and the rest of Council want
to hear from citizens on the issues that they are voting on and
they are more than willing to discuss the issues with their constituents.
Hutchins
serves as the Council representative to the Cherry Creek Basin
Water Quality Authority, Senior Center Committee, Cultural Commission,
and the Parker Fire District. In the past she has been a liaison
to the Parker Chamber of Commerce, Parker Water and Sanitation
District, Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG) and Youth
for Parker.
