Volunteer Opportunities
The
Town of Parker has a variety of volunteer opportunities available
to our citizens. The following is a list of some our most asked
about volunteer programs. As other volunteer opportunities become
available, they will be listed on this page.
Parker
Cultural Commission
The Parker Cultural Commission is always seeking volunteers to
assist with the variety of community cultural events they put
on each year. The Cultural Commission has ongoing programming,
including classes and workshops, children's theatre programs,
free concerts in the park and more. If you are interested in being
a part of this Commission, please call 303.841.0353 or email
us.
Adopt-a-Street/Park
Program
The Town of Parker Public Works Department is constantly seeking
individuals, groups, and organizations to take part in the Adopt-a-Street/Park
Program. Through this program, participants assist in keeping
the Town of Parker clean by adopting a street, park, open space,
or trail, and periodically picking up the trash in that area.
Participants are required to pick up trash in their designated
space a minimum of once every two months, but preferably once
per month. The Public Works Department provides all adoptees with
orange trash bags for debris removal. Orange vests will be available
for those working on or near roads as well.
After
the trash pick-up is complete and the Public Works Department
is notified, crews are sent to collect the full trash bags on
the morning of the next working day. Following the completion
of the first trash pick-up, a recognition sign that lists the
organization or individual who has adopted the area will be posted
in each designated location.
The Town of Parker is a beautiful place to live, but we need your
help to keep it that way. If you or someone you know is interested
in adopting a street, park, open space, or trail, call the Public
Works Department at 303.840.9546 or email
us to sign up today.
