Performances Saturday, June 7, 1 and 5 p.m.
Parker Mainstreet Center, 19650 E. Mainstreet
Have you ever wondered what really happened after Sleeping Beauty woke up, especially when she is a princess with modern ideas? Find out in It’s Tough Being the Prince! This play is the delightful and humorous story of what the Prince had to endure to win the hand of the Princess, including slaying dragons, swashbuckling with knights and making friends with a retired dragon.
Auditions to be held on May 13 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. for ages 10 to 16. The stage crew is also in need of artistic youth to help design sets, and coordinate props, lights, costumes, curtains and more. There will be a $65 participation fee due May 15 if selected to be cast or crew. We also encourage children with disabilities to participate in this production. Call 303.805.3263 or email with questions.
Rehearsals will be held every Tuesday and Thursday from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Mainstreet Center. Performances are Saturday, June 7 at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. Tickets, $5, are available in advance at the Parker Recreation Center.
Little Red
Riding Hood
with Missoula
Children’s Theatre
Auditions Monday, June 16, 4 p.m.
Performances Saturday, June 21, 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.
Mainstreet Center, 19650 E. Mainstreet
Over the river and through the woods to Grandmother’s house she goes. Red Riding Hood, not so little anymore, and her pre-teen pals try to stay on the straight and narrow in the latest adventure from the Missoula Children’s Theatre. The Big Bad Wolf, who is not so bad after all, and a friendly neighborhood Forest Ranger urge our heroes to stay true to the path, for in the Shadows lurk diversions and a sinister surprise or two. A pack of woefully nasty young wolves and a handsome Woodsman, too good to be true, are a must for our story. And we can’t have a wolf tale without Three Little Pigs and even a Boy Who Cries…you guessed it. With help from her family and a loyal young Locksmith (he carries the key), Red finds her Grandma and a whole lot more. Now if only she could retrieve her picnic basket from those rascally Raccoons. Life is no picnic when you stray from the trail!
Local kids grades K to 12 are invited to audition for the show on Monday, June 16. Bring a smile and be ready to have some fun! Children selected for the cast and crew will work hard all week to stage a musical performance on Saturday. Cast and crew should plan to be available for rehearsals from 4 to 6 p.m. and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. daily, plus a Saturday morning dress rehearsal. No exceptions. Cast and crew will pay a $30 participation fee.
Performances are Saturday, June 21 at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. at the Mainstreet Center. Tickets, $5, are available in advance at the Parker Recreation Center or online. Search with key word "Missoula."
