The
Parker Recreation Department was established in 1992 and the Recreation
Center opened in 1994. Since then, we have been busy
keeping up with the expectations of our rapidly growing community. In 2007 the Town opened the doors to the Parker Fieldhouse, a 100,000 ft2 sports and fitness facility.
We strive for continued improvement by adding and upgrading our parks
and facilities. Major recent capital projects in the past ten years include Phase I improvements
at Salisbury
Equestrian Park, construction of H2O’Brien
pool, restoration of the historic Ruth
Memorial Chapel, and a Recreation
Center addition and renovation. The Town’s
inventory now includes over 200 acres of parkland, 400 acres of open space,
and 12 miles of paved trails.
Of
course, Parker Recreation is much more than facilities. We offer
a full range of adult
and youth programming choices. Offerings include
year round swimming lessons, children’s and adult special
interest classes,
arts and crafts classes, and cultural
events. Recreational
sport leagues are available year round for kids as young as three though 50+ leagues for more mature players.
Opportunities for participation continue to grow and diversify
with our population. Click here to view a copy of the most recent Recreation Brochure.
The
Town of Parker’s Recreation Department offers something
for everyone. Whether you’re looking for a place to picnic,
an arts and crafts class to take, or an athletic league to join,
you’ve come to the right place!
