|Save the Date: Public Open House #2
Join us Wednesday, Aug. 20 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall to give your feedback on the preferred concept for the Salisbury Park North expansion currently in development.
The Town of Parker purchased 90 acres of land adjacent to the Salisbury Equestrian Park and Sports Complex in the Cherry Creek corridor (11920 Motsenbocker Rd; map) and will be creating a master plan for how this acreage will be used. The plan will likely be completed towards the end of 2014. Depending on the costs for each phase and the prioritization of town-wide capital projects, a timeline will be developed for park construction.
Public Process to Hear Your Ideas and Opinions
Although the new park space has a few limitations, including floodplain and endangered species habitat, this 90-acre site represents a tremendous opportunity to create a special destination for Parker residents. The Town of Parker recently presented a group of three initial concepts for the new Salisbury Park North development at a June 30 public open house held at Town Hall. The formation of these concepts was aided by a public process that included a survey resulting in more than 800 responses to an online survey, as well as two stakeholder meetings featuring representatives from a collection of local groups and organizations. Our open house was a tremendous success, and we’d like to thank the more than 150 individuals who stopped by and provided additional input.
Based on the responses we received from the open house, stakeholder meetings and a presentation to Town Council, we have begun refining our concepts in order to develop one preferred concept. This preferred concept will be the focus of our second public open house on Wednesday, Aug. 20 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall. To help keep the public informed about our master plan process, these initial concepts are now available online.
