Election Day Nov. 6:
Among the 2018 General Election ballot items, Parker voters will elect three Town Council representatives on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 6. Council candidates, in the order they will appear on the ballot, are Danielle Ozaluk, Jeff Toborg, Stephen Curtis, Robert Mark Ihrig, Renee Williams, Terry Dodd, Todd Hendreks, Michelle Rene Kelly, Elissa Flaumenhaft and Cheryl Poage. Ballots were mailed to residents in mid-October and must be received by 7 p.m. on Election Day. Postmarks do not count. Ballots may be returned at any Douglas County 24-hour ballot drop off location including Parker Town Hall and the Parker Police Department.
Parker also has a pair of voter service and polling centers — Parker Town Hall and the Parker Fieldhouse — which opened Monday, Oct. 22. Dates and hours of operation can be found at www.DouglasVotes.com. These locations will also be open for voting on Election Day 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Election Day only (7 a.m. to 7 p.m.) voting sites are Chaparral High School, Legend High School and Ponderosa High School.

Start Turkey Day with a 5K:
Parker Parks and Recreation hosts the Turkey Day 5K FUN Run/Walk with RNK Running & Walking on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 22.
The family-friendly race begins at 8 a.m. at the Parker Recreation Center. This non-sanctioned event is unofficially timed, however all participants will receive a giveaway and chance to win prizes. Strollers are welcome, but for safety reasons, please leave dogs, bikes and scooters at home.
Pre-registration continues through Nov. 7 and can be completed on the Turkey Day 5K FUN Run/Walk website.
Welcome the holiday season at Mayor’s Holiday Lighting:
Be there when O’Brien Park and downtown Parker are illuminated for the Christmas season at the Mayor’s Holiday Lighting. Festivities take place from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23.
Following the lighting, take in the sights and sounds of the decorated park with ice sculptures, appearances from special seasonal characters including Santa and Mrs. Claus, and performances from the Parker Chorale, high school choirs and The Colorado School of Dance.
The Parker Ice Trail at Discovery Park also opens for the season Friday, Nov. 23 in conjunction with the Mayor’s Holiday Lighting activities.
Shop local on Small Business Saturday:
Small Business Saturday is a day to patronize local and independent businesses and Parker has plenty of options to choose from. Find a list of Parker establishments to support on the Town Business Directory and get to know these local entrepreneurs on the Made in Parker blog.

Monthly public meetings:
Parker Town Council will meet at 7 p.m. Mondays, Nov. 5 and 26 in the Council Chambers at Town Hall, 20120 E. Mainstreet. The Council will hold a study session at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13 in the Pikes Peak Community Room at Town Hall.
The Parker Planning Commission will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8 in the Council Chambers at Town Hall.
The Parker Special Licensing Authority will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15 in the Council Chambers at Town Hall.
