Make your plans for the month ahead with our list of five things to know for March.

Let’s Talk Parker completes first year:
It has been one year since the Town launched Let’s Talk Parker, its first online citizen engagement platform, and a busy year at that.

To date, more than 1,500 participants have registered for Let’s Talk Parker and shared their feedback on 14 projects, including My Mainstreet, the Parker Road Corridor Plan, Parker Police Department’s Traffic Enforcement Map, and Parker Arts’ Strategic Plan.

If you haven’t yet, you may register at www.LetsTalkParker.org to begin participating in one of the site’s current projects. Stay tuned for more to be added in the months ahead.


“The Odd Couple” takes to The Schoolhouse stage:
In Neil Simon’s hilarious play, uptight neat freak Felix and easygoing, disheveled Oscar both find themselves divorced. When these old friends become roommates, the “The Odd Couple” is born.

There’s plenty of chances to check out this comedy with nine performances scheduled at The Schoolhouse Theater between March 8 and 17. Tickets may be purchased on the Parker Arts website.


First Coffee with a Cop of the year March 13:
Come join some of your favorite Parker Police officers and department staff for Coffee with a Cop from 8 to 10 a.m. on March 13 at Starbucks, 9700 S. Parker Road, Suite 100.  

Coffee with a Cop is the perfect setting for kids to form positive connections with officers, for folks to talk about careers in law enforcement and for citizens to ask questions about areas of concern in their community. At this first event, the Parker Police Department encourages visitors to bring individual-sized, non-perishable food items to help support the Cram the Cruiser food drive that benefits the backpack program at the Parker Task Force.


Keep active with spring break camps:
While school’s out there’s plenty of fun to be had and things to learn with one of Parker Arts’ or Parker Parks and Recreation’s spring break camps! Parker Arts will host Rockin’ Rockets Camp and Parker Arts Variety Camp during spring break. To learn more, visit www.ParkerArts.org/Camp.

Park and recreation break programs include Nothing But Net Basketball Camp, Fencing: Jedi Knight Camp, Olympic Sabre Fencing Camp, Pickleball Pals Clinic, Soccer Goalie Camps and more. Register for these programs at www.ParkerRec.com. The Parker Recreation Center Indoor Pool will also be open for tropical getaways closer to home.


Monthly public meetings:
Parker Town Council will meet at 7 p.m. Mondays, March 4 and 18 in the Council Chambers at Town Hall, 20120 E. Mainstreet. The Council will hold study sessions at 5:30 p.m. Mondays, March 11 and 25 in the Pikes Peak Community Room at Town Hall.

The Parker Planning Commission will meet at 7 p.m. Thursdays, March 14 and 28 in the Council Chambers at Town Hall.

The Parker Special Licensing Authority will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 21 in the Council Chambers at Town Hall.
