LoveEmOrLeaveEm
Now that we’re into the swing of a new year, things are picking up around the Town of Parker. Keep pace with local events this month by reading our list of five things to know for February.

Love 'em or Leave 'em Valentine's Day 5K/10K:
It’s almost time to lace up your running shoes and kick off another Parker Parks and Recreation Run Series season.

The Love 'em or Leave 'em Valentine's Day 5K/10K on Saturday, Feb. 10, invites runners and walkers to traverse a course around Bar CCC Park. Start for the 10K is 10 a.m. with the 5K at 10:05 a.m. A professionally-timed event, the overall male/female finishers, as well as the top three finishers in each of the following divisions of the 5K and 10K will be awarded: 12 and under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60.

Preregistration ends Wednesday, Feb. 7 at noon, but walk-up registrations are accepted on race day.

Coffee with a Cop Feb. 14:
The Parker Police Department’s popular Coffee with a Cop events are returning for another year. The first of the quarterly gatherings has been set for 8 to 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 14 at Kneaders Bakery & Café, 19190 Mainstreet. Coffee with a Cop is the perfect setting for kids to form positive connections with officers, for folks to talk about careers in law enforcement and for citizens to ask questions about areas of concern in their community.

The Schoolhouse reopens:
After years of remodeling, The Schoolhouse will once again welcome residents into its historic halls. The fully-renovated structure opens with a full weekend slate of events beginning with Friday Night Jazz on Friday, Feb. 16 (sold out), and followed by Comedy & Cocktails on Saturday, Feb. 17 (sold out), and a performance from the DU Lamont School of Music on Sunday, Feb. 18. A ribbon cutting and open house celebrating the renovation is planned for Saturday, Feb. 24.

Holiday closure:
Town Hall will be closed Monday, Feb. 19 in observance of Presidents’ Day.

Monthly public meetings:
Parker Town Council will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 5 and Tuesday, Feb. 20 in the Council Chambers at Town Hall, 20120 E. Mainstreet. The Council will hold study sessions at 5:30 p.m. Mondays, Feb. 12 and 26 in the Pikes Peak Community Room at Town Hall.
