2019 Discovery Park Ice Skating-15

As the seasons change again, here are some of our picks for making the most of winter in the Town of Parker.

Stroll Among the Lights: See downtown Parker in its holiday best when illuminated by thousands of twinkling lights. The lights, which were switched on at the Mayor’s Holiday Lighting, shine in O’Brien Park and along Mainstreet through early January.

Skate the Ice Trail: Take a lap, or several, on the Parker Ice Trail at Discovery Park. As one of only a few ice trails in the country, this winter park feature allows skaters to meander around a path reminiscent of a frozen river or canal. Skaters or visitors alike can stay warm next to any of the three fire pits adjacent to the ice trail, or enjoy hot chocolate from the on-site concession stand while watching skaters pass by.

Warm Up with Indoor Activities: Keep cozy with a Parker Arts performance like Roald Dahl’s Matilda, the Musical, Friday Night Jazz, Comedy & Cocktails, Wonderbound, the Parker Symphony Orchestra, and more. A full schedule is listed on the Shows and Events Calendar. Art galleries at the PACE Center and The Schoolhouse, as well as educational classes, provide even more entertainment opportunities.

Parker Parks and Recreation’s catalog of winter adult sports, youth sports, fitness classes and camps has plenty of options to keep active and warm, too. And if winter has you dreaming of summer days, Parker Recreation Center’s indoor pool is balmy every day of the year!

Take Part in a Special Event: Put on your tiara for the Princess Ball in January or lace up your sneakers for the Love ‘em or Leave ‘em Valentine’s Day 5K/10K in February. Parents’ Night Out and Saturday Skate Nights hosted by Parker Rec and the Family Free Days at the PACE Center hosted by Parker Arts are also fantastic options any time of year.

Choose Parker: Find a new favorite shop, restaurant or meet-up spot in town. Explore Parker’s unique business and dining options on the Made in Parker Blog or the Choose Parker campaign website.

Create Your Own Trip: Plan your visit to the Town of Parker at www.ParkerOnline.org/Visit and find more things to do on the Town Calendar, Parker Parks and Recreation Calendar and Parker Arts Calendar.

Share Your Adventures: Tag the Town’s official social media accounts and add #TownofParkerCO, #ParkerRec and #ParkerArts to your posts to let us know how you enjoyed winter in Parker.
