Arbor Day Celebration and Branching Out Parker return:
Registration for Parker Parks and Recreation’s Arbor Day Celebration will open April 1 at www.ParkerRec.com/ArborDay.
The event will take place Saturday, May 1 at Discovery Park. Participants will be able to pick up a free seedling tree and meet the Town’s Parks and Forestry Team, who can answer questions about tree planting, pruning and tree selection. Participants can also enjoy a delicious to-go pancake breakfast! Additional children’s activities will not be offered at this year’s event. Due to current capacity restrictions, event registration is required.
Each household that would like to participate in this event must register in advance on the event webpage.
The Branching Out Parker tree reimbursement program also returns this spring. This initiative provides up to $300 in funding assistance for Parker residents to encourage tree planting throughout the Town.
Applications will be accepted April 1 through May 2 on the program webpage.
Town Council Special Election April 20:
The Town of Parker will hold a special election on Tuesday, April 20 to fill two open seats on the Parker Town Council. The two Councilmembers elected will serve until the next regular municipal election, which will be held in November 2022.
Ballots were mailed to registered voters the last week of March and can be returned by mail or dropped off at one of Parker’s 24-hour ballot drop box locations. Ballots must be returned by 7 p.m. on Election Day, April 20. Please note that postmarks do not count.

April is National Volunteer Month, and in the Town of Parker, there’s a volunteer program or opportunity for everyone.
While not all programs have resumed just yet, you can learn about the Town’s many volunteer options by visiting www.ParkerOnline.org/Volunteer or the Town’s Volunteer Connect Douglas County page.
Monthly public meetings:
Please note, Town Council Meetings and Planning Commission Meetings continue to operate in hybrid or entirely virtual formats.
Parker Town Council will meet at 7 p.m. Mondays, April 5 and 19. The Council will hold study sessions at 5 p.m. on Mondays, April 12 and 26.
The Parker Planning Commission will meet at 7 p.m. Thursdays, April 8 and 22.
The Parker Special Licensing Authority will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 15.
