The Town of Parker is excited to announce the members of the new Parker Youth Commission that were recently appointed during a Parker Town Council Meeting. The nine members include: Amara Fantl, Carson Flowers, Sarah Goudjil, Joey Jung, Brayden Parsons, Iris Pixler, Noor Reslan, Landon Schnell and Aarav Varma.

The Town Council approved creation of the Youth Commission in May. The Commission provides an opportunity for students to learn more about their local government, participate in the process, and represent and articulate the needs of our community’s young citizens. Since this is the Youth Commission’s first year, the appointments were set with staggered terms to allow for a selection of new appointments to be made each year moving forward. Four of the students [Jung, Parsons, Pixler (Commission Chair) and Schnell] were confirmed for one-year terms, while the five others [Fantl (Commission Vice-Chair), Flowers, Reslan, Goudjil, Varma] will serve two years.

In its inaugural year, the Parker Youth Commission will work on creating the Commission’s framework, including policies and guidelines for members moving forward. Over the long term, members will serve their youth peers by informing local leaders of the needs and wishes of young residents; plan and implement youth activities and recognition programs; and organize and perform service projects.
