5 Things To Know For October

Two children dressed as a bride and fairy princess hold their orange trick-or-treat bags and smile.

Keep up with Parker news and happenings with our list of five things to know for October.

Fieldhouse Fright Night Oct. 21:

Families are invited to an evening of Halloween fun at Fieldhouse Fright Night at the Parker Fieldhouse.

Kids will find tricks and treats galore as they make their way around Trick-or-Treat Street, play goblin games, make their way through a Mini or Mega Monster Museum, conquer the Rock'n Halloween Climbing Wall and play superhero with the Parker Police Department and South Metro Safety Foundation! Local sponsors, crafts and games for both big and small will all be a part of this magical Halloween family event.

Find additional information and register on the event website.

Enter The Halloween Home Decorating Contest:

The Parker Halloween Home Decorating Contest, formerly the Porch Parade Series, makes its frightfully-fun return this October! The community is invited to celebrate by decorating your home for the spooky season. Unleash your creativity, bring a smile (or a scare) to your friends and neighbors, and enter to be named one of the best-decorated homes in Parker!

Participants, which must have a Parker mailing address in the 80134 or 80138 ZIP codes, will be able to enter one of three judged categories, plus be entered in the Elected Choice and People’s Choice awards.

Entries will be accepted online beginning Monday, Oct. 9 until 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24. Judging and voting will take place Oct. 25 to 30.

Enter and learn more on the contest webpage.

“Murder for Two” Musical Whodunit Opens At The Schoolhouse:

Join Parker Arts for their first stage production of the 2023/2024 season with “Murder for Two,” opening Oct. 27.

The musical is the perfect blend of song, mayhem and murder! In this hilarious 90-minute show, two performers play 13 roles – not to mention the piano – in a witty and winking homage to old-fashioned murder mysteries. You won’t want to miss this killer musical comedy.

The show runs through Nov. 19 at The Schoolhouse, with tickets available here.

Town Special Election Approaches:

The Town of Parker will hold a special election in connection with the Douglas County coordinated election on Nov. 7, 2023.  The election will feature four ballot questions regarding amendments to the Town Charter, listed as Questions 2A, 2B, 2C and 2D on ballots.

To learn about each of the ballot questions and access general election information, visit the 2023 Election webpage.
