You’re sure to feel thankful you live in Parker this month as the local calendar is stuffed with seasonal events and activities. See what’s in store by reading our list of five things to know for November.
Election Day Nov. 7:
Ballots for the 2017 Coordinated Election must be cast by 7 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 7. Through Election Day, the Town of Parker hosts a pair of 24-hour ballot drop off locations: Parker Town Hall, 20120 E. Mainstreet and Parker Police Department, 18600 Lincoln Meadows Pkwy. These locations are available to drop off ballots through 7 p.m. on Election Day.
Early voting takes place at designated locations throughout Douglas County and several polling locations are open on Election Day. For more information about voting and other election information, visit www.DouglasVotes.com.
Hometown Holiday Weekend approaches:
Kick off your holiday season with a weekend of events Friday, Nov. 24 through Sunday, Nov. 26. Parker's Hometown Holiday Weekend begins the Friday after Thanksgiving with Mayor’s Holiday Lighting in O’Brien Park. The enchanted evening of music, the official park lighting and performances begins at 5:30 p.m.
Another favorite Town tradition, Holiday Carriage Rides, will take place over three days this year. Carriage Rides will be offered as a non-stop loop from Discovery Park and the Douglas County Library in Parker to O'Brien Park from 3:30 to 8:30 p.m. Nov. 24 to 26.
More holiday entertainment is planned throughout the weekend at Discovery Park, 20115 E. Mainstreet.

Ice Trail opens for season:
Having made its debut in late 2016, Parker Ice Trail at Discovery Park, opens for the season Friday, Nov. 24. This unique winter recreation destination allows skaters to meander through the park along a frozen path. Those who prefer a bit more warmth can cozy up at any of the three fire pits adjacent to the trail.
Shop local on Small Business Saturday:
Growing more popular each year, the Saturday after Thanksgiving has become known as Small Business Saturday. Falling on Nov. 25 this year, the day is one to recognize and appreciate locally-owned business and shops. In Parker, there are a number of distinct businesses to patronize on Small Business Saturday and all year round. Monthly public meetings:
Parker Town Council will meet at 7 p.m. Mondays, Nov. 6 and 20 in the Council Chambers at Town Hall, 20120 E. Mainstreet. The Council will hold study sessions at 5:30 p.m. Mondays, Nov. 13 and 27 in the
Pikes Peak Community Room at Town Hall.
The Parker Planning Commission will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday Nov. 9 in the Council Chambers at Town Hall.
The Parker Special Licensing Authority will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16 in the Council Chambers at Town Hall.
